QPI (Quick Path Interconnect) is a point-to-point serial cache-coherent bus developed by Intel for connecting processors in multiprocessor systems and for transferring data between the processor and the chipset. QPI was created in response to the HyperTransport bus previously developed by a consortium led by AMD.
