John Locke argues that nature is a pleasant place to be. Additionally, he explains that mankind is to be treasured as much as possible, and should be left free to take and order their actions as they deem fit. Overall, the actions are bound by the law of nature that governs them.

The primary objective of entering into civil government is to protect people’s right to life, property, and liberty since, without a social contract, the state of nature is not strong enough to protect and control the privileges.

Mankind would find themselves in a state of war when they seek to dominate each other without boundaries nor respect. Notably, the natural state of mankind is a state of war.
