Tacit knowledge is not codified and transferable through written or oral language, for example personal experience. It is the opposite of explicit knowledge which is learned and can be repeated. Tacit knowledge is held by human beings; It is more difficult to obtain than explicit knowledge but has more value.
Use your own ideas and advice the Namibia University of Science and Technology how this type of knowledge management is applied in learning. Use practical examples to substantiate your ideas.
Tacit knowledge involves the use of insights and intuitions and may come from personal and professional experiences. In the classroom some students understand certain units better than others meaning that some students will automatically be better in these units than the others. It is therefore important for the Namibia University of Science and technology to be able to manage tacit knowledge and apply it in classrooms. The university can manage knowledge through having interactive classrooms where students are able to share insights with other students. For example, when a students understands and finds a certain unit easy, they can use their knowledge to try and help others understand. Even though tacit knowledge can not be it can be helpful through sharing of insights and observation.
