Reasons behind the evolution of international and Regional organizations
Regional organizations play an essential role in democratic transition by facilitating cross-national collaboration. The Inter-Regional Discourse on Democracy (IRDD) program of International IDEA provides a unique venue for democratic dialogue among eight of the world's most prominent regional organizations.
Role of the various powers in the formation of the United Nations
- To maintain international peace and security, and to that end: to take effective collective measures for the prevention and removal of threats to the peace, and the suppression of acts of aggression or other breaches of the peace, and to bring about the adjustment or settlement of international disputes or situations that may lead to a breach of the peace through peaceful means and following the principles of justice and international law.
- To foster cordial ties among states based on the idea of equal rights and peoples' self-determination and take other suitable actions to enhance global peace.
- To achieve worldwide cooperation in the resolution of international issues of an economic, social, cultural, or humanitarian nature and promote and encourage respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms for everyone without regard to race, gender, language, or religion.
- To serve as a focal point for coordinating nations' efforts to achieve these common goals.
