1. Religion-Colonization brought about Christian missionary activities which destroyed African culture through the gospels of salvation, obedience and work. Through Western education, which they dominated despite the colonial state’s role, Christian missions preached against African cultures. They were definite that the Africans’ salvation must be gauged on the extent to which traditional cultural practices were abandoned. Their invocations about obeying the government because it is God who placed it there was meant to make Africans obey the colonial regime.

2. Politics-In the political sphere, colonialism affects first of all the pre-colonial elites, although

Domination took different forms. One influence of colonialism was the political concentration of territories having no central government or, where centralization already existed, the foreign take-over or domination of pre-colonial central government.

3. Economic- The main arguments regarding colonialism in the economic element are the drain of wealth, the exploitation of natural resources, and the improvement of infrastructure. Colonialism also led to a substantial outflow of financial resources.

4. Social-Most of the little social amenities provided during the colonial period were concentrated at a place. Another important impact of colonialism in Africa was the emergence and institutionalization of classes and class struggle in the socio-economic and political life of the people. Colonialism in Africa also led to colonially-induced labor migration and the level of colonial investment in the health and education sector.
