Question: Write an essay in which you discuss the Dell theory of conflict prevention.
In your discussion, focus on whether you think that the Dell theory is relevant today, and be sure to give relevant examples to substantiate your answers.
Thomas Friedman came up with the "Dell Theory of Conflict Prevention," which claims that "no two nations who are both members of a major worldwide supply chain would ever wage war against each other as long as they are both parts of the same global supply chain." Friedman, however, misses taking a neorealist and constructivist orientation to his idea, even though his reasoning describes current historical events. Even within the sphere of economic activity, the theory only has empirical support in a utopian environment and cannot foresee confrontations concerning interests and identity. For instance, there was no telling how World war 2 would shape the current economy.
