We have,

d=30cm=0.3md= 30cm = 0.3m

F=40NF = 40N

q1=q2=qq_1 = q_2 = -q

We know,

F=14πϵ0q1q2d2F = \dfrac{1}{4\pi \epsilon_0} \dfrac{q_1q_2}{d^2}

After putting values we get,

40=14πϵ0q20.3×0.340 = \dfrac{1}{4\pi\epsilon_0} \dfrac{q^2}{0.3\times 0.3}

q2=40×4πϵ0×0.3×0.3q^2 = 40\times 4\pi\epsilon_0\times 0.3 \times 0.3

We get,

q=0.632×103Cq = 0.632\times 10^{-3} C
