According to physics concepts

Parallel universe or an alternate universe, or alternate reality, is a hypothetical self-contained plane of existence, co-existing with one's own.

A parallel universe would then be another universe that exists outside our own, and the two would by definition never cross paths. A dimension is how objects in the universe (and theoretically things outside the universe) relate to one another. Therefore  a parllel universe can share the same dimension can exist.
