when electron goes lower to higher levels the this process generate absorption spectra.

b) energy required to electron to higher level is called excitation energy.

Energy required to ionize any matarial is called ionization energy.

1) when any material is heated as well as it's electron start to emit from its surface is called thermionic emission.

2) when we falls photon of certain energy on surface of any metals then electron start to emit this is called photoelectric effect.

3) potential required to stop for electron on another terminal is called stopping potential.
