HOW Davisson -Germer electron diffraction experiment confirms the de-Broglie Hypothesis of matter wave?

Monocrhomatic flux of electrons was emitted to a flat surface of a nickel crystal. What was measured in the experiment is how the electrons are scattered. The way they were scattered was in fact the way waves diffract: the intensity of the reflected electron ray varied the same way as the intensity of diffracting waves.
