The force is a push or pull upon an object resulting from the object’s interaction with another object. If there is an interaction between two objects, there is a force upon each of the objects. The interaction can be physical or non-physical. Forces resulting from physical interaction are called contact forces (for example, frictional force, tension force, normal force). Forces resulting from non-physical interaction are called action-at-a-distance forces (for example, gravitational force, electrical force, magnetic force). Force is the vector quantity (it has both magnitude and direction). The unit of force in the SI is called the newton.
