A point charge of 5 µC is located at point A between two plates 40 cm apart. The potential of the upper plate is 1000 V and the lower plate is at zero. The three points, A, B, and C, form a right angled triangle within the two plates (angle BAC is 90) such that A to B is 30cm, A to C is 40cm, and B to C is 50cm.

a) Calculate the force on the charge when it is at A.

b) Calculate the force on the charge when it is moved to position B.
