b) Shear stress in weld. c) Average stress in weld.

d) Maximum shear stress..

e) Principal stress.

The test piece is 300 mm long with a butt weld the full length, with a leg length of 10 mm. The working tensile force is 10 kN and the working shear force is 5 kN
