We can find the image distance from the mirror equation:

1do+1di=1f,\dfrac{1}{d_o}+\dfrac{1}{d_i}=\dfrac{1}{f},di=11f1do,d_i=\dfrac{1}{\dfrac{1}{f}-\dfrac{1}{d_o}},di=110.5 m12.0 m=0.4 m.d_i=\dfrac{1}{-\dfrac{1}{0.5\ m}-\dfrac{1}{2.0\ m}}=-0.4\ m.

The sign minus means that the image is virtual and located behind the mirror.
