When the boat moves towards the duck, the observers will see an increased number of waves reaching the boat during the same time.

When the boat moves away from the duck, the observers will see a decreased number of waves reaching the boat during the same time.

When the boat moves with a velocity same as the duck, the observers will see the number of waves greater than the number of waves when the boat moved away but smaller than the number of waves reaching the boat when it moved towards the duck.
