By using capillary tube of __,surface tension of molten metal can be determined
A capillary tube of known radIus r is immersed in the fluid to a known depth h. A gas/liquid meniscus is produced at the capillary tip by progressively increasing the gas pressure In the tube until the applIed pressure is sufficient for the meniscus to for an independent
bubble which detaches from the onfice. The maximum pressure at this point is recorded by a suitable transducer system and, from this value, y can be calculated.
