Answer to Question #164510 in Physics for ajay

Question #164510

A system is made by connecting two rods of same cross-sectional area forming a length of 1m at 25°C. From the combination, on rod is of copper of length 30 cm. The other rod increases by 1.91 mm at 125°C. It is given that, if the other rod is rigidly fixed between two walls so that no change in length may occur even with the rise of temperature. Find the value of young modulus (Y) and coefficient of linear expansion (α) for second rod. α for copper = 1.7 × 10–5 °C–1, Y for copper = 1.3 ×1011 N/M2
