Answer to Question #164293 in Physics for Andu

Question #164293

1. It is known that F1 = 0.5 N; F2 = 1 N; F 3 = 1.5 N; F4 = 1.5 N and F5 = 1 N. Also, OA1 = 40 cm; OA 2, = 20 cm; OA3 = 8 cm; OA4 = 20 cm and OA = 22 cm. a) Calculate the sum of hourly moments and the sum of counterclockwise moments. b) Calculate the total resultant moment and show whether the ruler is in equilibrium or not. c) What do you think will happen to the ruler if the force F5 increases, taking the new value F5 = 1.2 N? Calculate for this case the resultant moment and show its direction.
