What do you understand by total internal reflection?
I wonder how much the refractive index of a metal changes when a thin film (< 10 nm) is formed on the metal surface. An example is a 10 nm copper oxide (Cu2O) film formed on a copper surface. Is there any good reference literature on the topic?
