When the image of a candle flame is viewed in a thick plane glass mirror, we observe several faint images in addition to one bright image. This occurs due to the partial reflection and partial refraction at the two surfaces of the glass plate or the thick mirror.

As the intensity of light of partially reflected light is less than an actually reflecting light at the surface of the plane mirror. That's why the second image is brightest image.
