Question #30212
A number of images of a candle flame are seen in a thick mirror silvered at the back. The bright image is the second image. Why?
Answer:
Any mirrors silvered at the back have a thickness.
At first incoming rays of light reflected from the front side of mirror.
These rays build a first not bright image. This image is not bright because the front side of mirror reflected not most part of light (some percent depending on a material of mirror).
The silvered side of the mirror reflected the most part of the rays and builds the second bright image.
