Unpolarised light of intensity I falls on a polaroid. The emerging light is passed thru another polaroid whose axis makes an angle of 30 degrees with respect to the first one. What is the intensity of final emergent light?

I = I₀ cos α = I₀ cos 30 = I √(3) /2.
