Question #282184

The surface of a concave mirror is pointed towards a flashlight. Light from the flashlight hits the mirror and converges to a point. How far is this converging point from the mirrors surface if the radius of curvature (C) of the mirror is 250cm?

Expert's answer

The distance from the mirror and the convergence point will be half the radius of curvature since it is the the focal point. Therefore the distance will be (250/2)cm = 125cm
