f=f= Focal length of convex lens = 25cm25 cm

μ=\mu = refractive index of crown glass = 1.521.52

We use the lens maker's formula

1f=(μ1)(1R11R2)\frac {1}{f} = (\mu-1) (\frac{1}{R_1}- \frac {1}{R_2})

Here, R1 and R2R_1 \space and \space R_2 are the radii of the curvatures

For convex lens, R2 is flatR_2 \space is \space flat , so 1R2=0\frac {1}{R_2} =0

So, the formula will be:

1f=(μ1)(1R1)\frac {1}{f} = (\mu-1) (\frac{1}{R_1})125=(1.521)(1R1)\frac {1}{25} = (1.52 -1) (\frac {1}{R_1})125=(0.52)(1R1)\frac {1}{25} =(0.52) (\frac {1}{R_1})R1=0.52×25=13cmR_1 = 0.52 \times 25= 13 cm
