(b) Numerical Aperture, (NA)=μ12μ22(NA)=\sqrt{\mu_1^2-\mu_2^2}

=(1.54)2(1.50)2=0.348=\sqrt{(1.54)^2-(1.50)^2}=0.348


(c) Acceptance angle, θa=sin1(NA)=sin1(0.348)=20.40°\theta_a=sin^{-1}(NA)=sin^{-1}(0.348)=20.40\degree


(d) Numerical aperture in air =μ12μo2=\sqrt{\mu_1^2-\mu_o^2}

=(1.54)212=1.17=\sqrt{(1.54)^2-1^2}=1.17
