Since, the lens is diverging ,thus ff is negative and f=25cmf=-25cm

Formula for magnification is,

m=vum=\frac{v}{u}

where, u,vu,v are object and image distance respectively.

Thus, u=2vu=2v

Now, from lens maker formula,

1f=1v1u\frac{1}{f}=\frac{1}{v}-\frac{1}{u}

Hence,

125=1v12v=12v    v=12.5cm\frac{1}{-25}=\frac{1}{v}-\frac{1}{2v}=\frac{1}{2v}\\ \implies v=-12.5cm

Thus,

u=25cmu=-25cm
