Vapor –compression refrigeration cycle consists of evaporator, compressor, condenser and expansion (throttle) valve.First refrigerant enters the compressor as a saturated vapor and compressor is compressed isentropically point 1 to 2. The vapor is condensed to liquid state in the condenser in constant pressure from point 2 to point 3 and the latent heat of condensation is rejected to the heat sink. Then liquid refrigerant flows through the expansion valve and pressure is reduced to evaporating pressure from point 3 to4. From point 4 to 1 , the refrigerant is evaporated at the evaporator by using absorbed heat from the refrigerated space.
