Question #261330

Solution;

Given ;

pv2=cpv^2=c

V1=0.1m3V_1=0.1m^3

P1=100kPaP_1=100kPa

P2=900kPaP_2=900kPa

For final Temperature;

P1V12=P2V22P_1V_1^2=P_2V_2^2

Hence;

V2=V1(P1P2)12V_2=V_1(\frac{P_1}{P_2})^{\frac12}

V2=0.1(100900)0.5V_2=0.1(\frac{100}{900})^{0.5}

V2=0.0333m3V_2=0.0333m^3

The work done during the process;

W12=P2V2P1V11nW_{1-2}=\frac{P_2V_2-P_1V_1}{1-n}

W12=(900×0.0333)(100×0.1)12W_{1-2}=\frac{(900×0.0333)-(100×0.1)}{1-2}

W12=19.7kJW_{1-2}=-19.7kJ
