If the roller coaster car in the above problem were moving with twice(40.0m/s)the speed, then what would be its new kinetic energy?

Solution:

Let us assume the mass of roller coaster car to be 625 kg.

v = 40 m/s

KE = ?

K.E. = 0.5 * 625 kg * (40 m/s )= 500000 Joules = 500 KJ

Answer: 500 KJ
