(a) Calculate the horizontal component of the force the seat exerts against his body.
F = ma
F = (75)(49)=3675 N.
Compare this with his weight by giving a ratio.
W = mg
W = (75)(9.8)=735 N
F/W =3675/735= 5
(b) Calculate the direction and magnitude of the total force the seat exerts against his body.
F_net = √(F^2+ W^2 ) = √(〖3675〗^2+ 〖735〗^2 ) = 3748 N
α = tan^(-1)⁡〖735/3675〗 = 11°
θ = 180° - α = 180° -11° = 169°
