Answer on question #53639, Physics / Mechanics — Kinematics — Dynamics

Question A = 3i + 4j and B = i - j, are two vectors in x, y plane. Find the magnitude of the sum of these two vectors

Solution Let us find vector A+B

3i+4j+ij=4i+3j3i+4j+i-j=4i+3j

Now we can find magnitude of A+B

A+B=42+32=25=5|A+B|=\sqrt{4^{2}+3^{2}}=\sqrt{25}=5
