Answer on Question#53482 - Physics - Mechanics - Kinematics - Dynamics

Why the movement of backward water is in 'v' shape while moving on a boat?

Answer:

When the speed of a source exceeds the speed of waves (a>ve)(a > v_{e}) the wave fronts lag behind the source in a v-shaped region with the source at the vertex. In the figure below circular wave fronts mentioned above form the v-shaped region.
