A child has a toy on a horizontal platform.the car starts from rest and reaches a maximum speed in 4s.if the mass of the car is 0.1kg and engine has an effective pull of 0.4N ,find the acceleration and the maximum speed of the car.

Initial velocity = 0m/s

Mass of the car =0.1Kg

Force =0.4N

Then we know that ;

F=ma

"0.4=0.1\u00d7a"

"a=\\frac {0.4}{0.1}=4m\/s^2"

Now by using first equation of motion, velocity can be determined ;

"v=u+at"

"V=0+4\u00d74"

"V=16m\/s"

Hence the acceleration is "4m\/s^2" and maximum speed is "16m\/s"
