The boy slips when centrifugal force exceeds the limiting force of friction. If ω\omega is the maximum angular velocity of wheel when boy just slips,


μmg=mrω2\mu m g = m r \omega^ {2}


i.e., μ=rω2g\mu = \frac{r\omega^2}{g}

μ=5×1210=0.5\mu = \frac {5 \times 1 ^ {2}}{10} = 0.5
