Let's apply the law of conservation of momentum:

m1v1m2v2=(m1+m2)vf,m_1v_1-m_2v_2=(m_1+m_2)v_f,vf=m1v1m2v2(m1+m2),v_f=\dfrac{m_1v_1-m_2v_2}{(m_1+m_2)},vf=0.016 kg0.3 ms0.004 kg0.5 ms(0.016 kg+0.004 kg)=0.14 ms.v_f=\dfrac{0.016\ kg\cdot0.3\ \dfrac{m}{s}-0.004\ kg\cdot 0.5\ \dfrac{m}{s}}{(0.016\ kg+0.004\ kg)}=0.14\ \dfrac{m}{s}.
