Motion in one dimension is, motion along a straight line or motion in a particular direction.

For eg: 1) A person running on a straight track.

2) A ball thrown vertically upwards

Physical quantities are,

1) Displacement: Shortest distance between final and initial points of motion. It's unit is meter (m)

2) Velocity: Rate of change of dispalcement

Unit is meter per second. (m/s)

"Velocity =\\frac{displacement}{time}"

3) Time: Time taken for the motion. Unit is seconds(s)

4) Acceleration: Rate of change of velocity. Unit is meter per second square. ("m\/s^2)"
