The potential energy ("mgh)" of the ball is dependent on the height the ball is from the ground and is converted to kinetic energy when the ball is falling.

when 1/3 of its total energy is Kinetic energy, height covered "=1\/3\\times 60m=20m"

height above the ground"=60m-20m=40m"
