Consider a non conducting sheet with charge density σ\sigma


By gauss law flux of it

ϕ=σsϵ0\phi=\frac{\sigma s}{\epsilon_0}


And by definition

ϕ=Edscos0°+Edscos0°\phi=\int Edscos0°+\int Eds cos0°

So


σsϵ0=2EsE=σ2ϵ0\frac{\sigma s}{\epsilon_0}=2Es\\E=\frac{\sigma }{2\epsilon_0}
