1. There are three identical metal spheres A, B, and C. Sphere A carries a charge of +5q, sphere B carries a charge of -q and Sphere C carries a net charge. A and B touched together and separated. Sphere C is then touched to Sphere A and separated from it. Finally, Sphere C is then touched to Sphere B and separated from it.  

 

i. What is the net charges on the three spheres after they have touched. 

ii. How many charges end up on sphere C.

Gives

$q_A=5q,q_B=-q,q_c=4q$

Sphere Aand B touched after seperately

Then charge

$q_A=q_B=2q$

Then sphere Cand A touched after seperate $q_A=q_c=3q$

Finally Sphere C touch Band after seperate $q_A=q_c=2.5q$
