Question #115998

Magnetic field and Ampere’s law assignment
Two long parallel wires are 10 cm apart and carry currents of 6 A and 4 A. what is the field B at 4 A carrying wire due to 6 A wire.
A long straight wire carries a current of 1.5 A. an electron travels with a speed of 5 x 106 cm/s parallel to the wire 10 cm from it and in the same direction as the current. What force does the magnetic field of the current exert on the moving electron.

Expert's answer

B=μoi2πr=4π×107×62π×0.1=12×106T\frac{\mu_oi}{2\pi r}=\frac{4\pi\times10^{-7}\times6}{2\pi\times0.1}=12\times10^{-6}T
