a) The resistance of refrigerator:


Rr=UIr=22010=22 Ohm.R_r=\frac{U}{I_r}=\frac{220}{10}=22\space Ohm.

The resistance of rice coocker:

Rc=UIc=2204=55 Ohm.R_c=\frac{U}{I_c}=\frac{220}{4}=55\space Ohm.


b) The total resistance:


R=RrRcRr+Rc=225522+55=15.7 Ohm.R=\frac{R_rR_c}{R_r+R_c}=\frac{22\cdot 55}{22+55}=15.7\space Ohm.


c) The current flowing in the line:


I=Ir+Ic=10+4=14 A.I=I_r+I_c=10+4=14\space A.
