Damped Oscillation"-"  When the motion of an oscillator reduces due to an external force(may be friction), the oscillator and its motion are damped. These periodic motions of gradually decreasing amplitude are damped oscillation.

Free oscillation"-" The oscillation of a body or system with its own natural frequency and under no external influence other than the impulse that initiated the motion.

Forced oscillation"-" The oscillation imposed upon a body or system by and with the frequency of some external vibrator of sensibly different frequency from its natural frequency.
