Answer to Question #174436 in Classical Mechanics for Rohan

Question #174436

A particle moves in a circular path with a speed v with respect to an inertial frame S. At a certain instant, a sharp blow increases the speed of the particle to 2v. With respect to this frame S, just after the blow the centrifugal force

(a) remains unchanged

Centrifugal force of the particle"=mr\\omega^2"

as the velocity of particle gets increase then the centrifugal force also gets increase because "v=r\\omega"

and finally the velocity becomes "= 2r \\omega"

Here radius is constant it means angular velocity gets increase hence form the above we conclude that the centrifugal force will get increase.

Hence, correct answer will be option (b)
