As Boron absorbs neutron, what happens then to Boron? Does it become excited or something else happens? 10B + n → 11B* → α + 7Li + 2.31 MeV At first stage, we obtain excited 11B*. It quickly decays to a 7Li and α-particle with energy of 2.31 MeV. No γ-quants are emitted.
