Answer to Question #237847 in Atomic and Nuclear Physics for Neslisah Bayrak

Question #237847

During fission of 235U induced by a neutron , bromine-87 is produced with a relatively high yield ( around 1.3%).

This bromine-87 decay into krypton-87 with a half-life of 56s. This krypton-87 is produced with an average excitation energy of 5.4 MeV.

This krypton-87 usually emit a neutron soon after being created. How is it possible? What data would you need to actually check if the condition are met in this case?
