Answer on question #55024, Physics / Astronomy — Astrophysics

Question What would be the circumference and diameter of a ball that would represent the Moon if the Earth were a volleyball? What kind of object matches this size?

Solution Radius of Earth is 6378.1 km and radius of Moon is 1737.4, that is approximately 3.7 times less. Radius of volleyball ball is approximately 11 cm. If we divide this by 3.7 we get almost 3 cm. The object with such radius is for example a tennis ball.
