The diagram below shows three basic wave forms – a sine wave, a sawtooth wave and a square wave. On the right hand side of the diagram sketch the line spectrum for each wave type. You only need to show approximate amplitudes for harmonics – but give an indication of the harmonics you would expect to see and their relative amplitudes. Also label the harmonics you show using the normal convention of ‘f ‘ as the fundamental and 2f, 3f, 4f etc. labelling the harmonics that would be present.
