Answer to Question #349121 in Philosophy for Mr. Red

Question #349121

Most societies judge men's and women's sexual behavior differently. That is, women are frequently condemned for sexual behavior that men tolerate, if not admire. Women and men, for example, are judged inequitably based on the number of partners they have or the circumstances in which they choose to engage in sexual behavior. In extreme cases, young African women's genitals are sometimes sewn shut to ensure virginity (and other reasons). Can a utilitarian argument be used to explain the disparities in social responses to men and women? Is this a Kantian argument?
