How does conscience relate to morality?

What a person believes is right and how a person chooses what is right are both described by conscience. Our conscience is more than just a 'gut feeling.' It is a'moral muscle.' It becomes the criterion by which we measure whether or not our acts are ethical since it informs us of our beliefs and ideals.
