: Is Quine's Natural Epistemology a valid alternative to BonJour's Cartesian position?
Naturalized epistemology is a collection of philosophic views concerned with the theory of knowledge that emphasize the role of natural scientific methods. Substantive naturalism focuses on an asserted equality of facts of knowledge and natural facts. In this sense, Quine's Natural Epistemology is not a viable alternative to the Cartesian position because it contradicts the methodological positions it uses to justify its positions. My argument against Quine's Natural Epistemology is that it does not prove its own position, and thus is unable to be a valid alternative to the Cartesian position.
